A cut made to a piece of fruit.
Hopeful they all were for the juice inside.
To everyone’s surprise, however,
there was nothing for the rind to hide.
Hollow it was, save for some scent.
Perhaps something was there before?
Something stolen with no harm meant.
How might they have done it?
The thieves made it hard to tell.
Does it even matter now?
This fruit’s impossible to sell.
Strange, though. It’s color’s stuck around.
At a distance, it even looks alive.
But really, it’s just mold above ground.
Thanks for reading,
Billy Collins did a wonderful job with his lectures and they were super helpful. Masterclass is my shit.
